With Super Bowl XLVII coming up this Sunday in New Orleans, there's one thing on everyone's mind: the commercials. Costing $3.8 million per 30-second spot, the ads will be seen by more than 100 million viewers worldwide -- but that's still not enough for some advertisers. Some companies have released their ads early so even more people will watch them ahead of the big game. If you don't want to be spoiled before Sunday, we've got a clip you can watch now that will make a big difference in NOLA.
As the world's largest ticket marketplace, StubHub gives millions of people access to music, sports, and theater events. With the launch of its new philanthropic program, StubHub Rising Stars, the organization will now give back to "outstanding grassroots nonprofit organizations improving access and opportunity for at-risk youth through sports and the arts." Just in time for Super Bowl Sunday, StubHub just announced NOLA-based The Roots of Music as its inaugural Rising Star Award Recipient.
Largely recognized as the birthplace of jazz, music is in New Orleans' blood, and The Roots of Music is building on that rich history to give back. The program, which helps at-risk youth through music education, provides free music education, academic mentoring, instruments and transportation to the students in the band.
While StubHub has already committed $50,000 to the program, the organization wanted to give The Roots of Music a chance to double that investment. StubHub created the video below, an introduction to the kids, supporters and educators involved in the program, and will donate $1 to The Roots of Music for every view (up to $50,000) through midnight on Super Bowl Sunday.
If you want to support The Roots of Music, all you have to do is click. Share it with your friends and ask them to watch. With your help, we'll help the video reach 50,000 views in no time!
