"World of Warcraft" fans may not have to fantasize about what a big screen version of Orgrimmar will look like for much longer. Duncan Jones ("Moon," "Source Code") has been tapped to direct the live action version of the massively successful MMORPG.

The long-gestating "Warcraft" film has seen its fair share of ups and downs, mainly with a Sam Raimi version that was in development for what seemed like an eternity before losing steam. After Raimi backed out of the film in late 2010 in favor of directing the soon to be released "Oz: The Great And Powerful," Jones, an admitted Blizzard game fan, expressed interest in helming the bound-to-be-massive epic. It looks like he will get his chance.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is slated to begin production in late 2013 for a 2015 release. The long wait for the film probably isn't a surprise to many avid Blizzard fans, as the company has a history of delaying computer projects. It somehow seems fitting to have a bumpy road while waiting for the film version.

I've had many sleepless nights playing "World of Warcraft" since it was first released, and I can't wait to see what Jones does to bring it to the screen. Jones' gamer background gives me comfort in knowing that he will be as faithful to the games as possible.

So whether you are Horde or Alliance, PvP or PvE, in a Guild or a lone Orc Rogue, I think this film will have the ability to please all classes. I'm looking forward to seeing what Tier 6 gear looks like on real people while they slay some angry boars.
