Phew, Monday's a big day -- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day plus the Presidential Inauguration. We all know MLK Day is a day to honor Dr. King and his message of nonviolence, but what can you expect today with the Inauguration? We've got a cheat sheet of deets below!

+ Oath of Office

An important part of the day will be when Barack Obama takes the Oath of Office. John Roberts, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, will be the person to administer the oath. President Obama's second term will officially start at noon, which means the oath will be taken before it. Wording for the oath comes from the Constitution: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

+ Musical Performers

MTV is headquartered in New York, but it feels like we moved to DC for Inaugration Day because of all the top MTV performers taking part in the Inauguration! Big time Prez Barry supporters Katy Perry, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé will there, plus Kelly Clarkson, who switched her support from Ron Paul to Barack Obama. Oh, and there will also be fun., Usher and the cast of "Glee." Their performances will be spread out throughout the day, so stay tuned!

+ Inaugural Address

After the Oath of Office (but before Kelly Clarkson) President Obama will give his Inaugural Address. We can't tell you what he's gonna say, but we have a feeling it'll be mega and he'll def namecheck MLK, Jr. A spokesperson from the White House said that President Obama is grateful to give a second Inaugural Address, and that he's been drafting his speech on yellow notepads.

+ Inaugural Parade

What's a big day without a parade? The Inaugural parade starts in the afternoon, after the swearing in and the luncheon. The president and vice president will be leading the way, heading to the White House, and they'll be followed by floats, marching bands, processions of ceremonial military regiments and citizens' groups.

+ Inaugural Balls

At the end of the day, we get to the glitzy and glamorous stuff -- the Inaugural balls! There will be a number of different Inaugural balls going on during the night, though only two official ones. This is clearly not the most important part of the day (unless of course you're a fashion guru) -- but it's a fun way to end it!
