James Bond's 50th anniversary year might be over, but the obsession with his story isn't. In fact, a four-part mini-series based on 007 scribe Ian Fleming is in the works, and a leading man has already been picked to play the main character.

Variety is reporting that Dominic Cooper has been tapped to play Fleming. The mini-series is tentatively being called "Fleming" and will air on the UK channel Sky Atlantic.

Keep in mind that there's another Fleming biopic reportedly being developed by Duncan Jones. No word yet on whether or not that movie is still being developed, but there could be some competition between the two projects if that is the case.

It's being said that "Fleming" will be set during World War II after Fleming joined the British Naval intelligence "as part of its undercover campaign against the Nazis." The onetime banker and stockbroker was said to be so inspired by these experiences that he decided to develop the character of Bond. Fleming was also something of a womanizer and drinker, just like his beloved character.

This is a great role for Cooper. After all, if you can't play James Bond, you might as well play the man who inspired him. In a statement, Cooper said, "Stepping into the shoes of the spy who not only created the enigmatic character of 007, but who fantasized about being him has to be every actor's dream." Well put.
