Ethiopian-born musician Kenna is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro…again! His first attempt at scaling the highest mountain in Africa was alongside Lupe Fiasco, Santigold, and a host of other celebs for the MTV special "Summit on the Summit." Together, they raised awareness of the millions of people worldwide who lack access to clean drinking water.
This time around, Kenna is hoping to raise even more awareness surrounding water conservation and waterborne illness, which he unfortunately lost his uncle to. "I'm more interested in people engaging in the subject and learning about it than I am about them donating money to it," he says. "Because once you realize what it is, you will be out to inspire people and educate people on the subject so they conserve as well." Watch more about what he has to say below.

Kenna also lists a few easy ways to conserve water. Like taking shorter showers, turning off the water while you're brushing your teeth, or putting a brick in your toilet. If your mind is currently wandering to a very dark place, we should clarify that it's not the sort of "brick" one dumps into their toilet after a Chipotle dinner! Kenna means an actual brick -- in the tank -- so that you use less water every time you flush!
Aside from his charity work and trademark eyewear (Are those non-prescription, son? Be honest!), Kenna also uses his music to make bold statements. His artsy, new video for "Long Gone" is all about the price of fame. The song sounds like an electro/indie/r&b jam or what I call Hipster Hop -- ha! Watch the vid and after that, take action below to learn more about how you can help bring clean water to people around the world.
