Did you catch Jordin Sparks' AMAZING Whitney Houston tribute at the Billboard Music Awards last night? She belted out "I Will Always Love You" and it gave me goosebumps. Even Bobbi Kristina, Whitney's 19-year-old daughter mouthed the words as Jordin sang. The "Idol" winner is not only moving people with her singing voice but with her Twitter voice too. We kid you not!
May is Melanoma Awareness Month, something that's close to Jordin Sparks's heart. Wendy, the woman she considered her second mom, battled skin cancer and passed away. In her memory, Jord's spending the month of May spreading the word on melanoma so people can learn more about it and protect themselves. Quick science lesson: melanoma is a kind of cancer that begins in your skin but can move to other parts of your body.
She's been using Twitter as a way to talk about melanoma and send out tributes to Wendy. But she didn't just send off a quick note at the beginning of the month. She's been updating it day-by-day, and yesterday she gave us a new melanoma-awareness note, plus a cool pic of her nana. BTW, orange is the color of the skin cancer awareness ribbon.
Day 20 Melanoma Awareness. Look how fabulous my Nana looks in her orange dress!! :) #BBMA #orange4wendy #ripwendy twitter.com/JordinSparks/s…

There is no 100% guaranteed way of never developing melanoma, but there are definitely ways to help prevent it, like using sunscreen, wearing a hat and not using tanning beds.
In the midst of her 31 days dedicated to preventing skin cancer, Jordin's been busy with other big things as well. We all know she killed it at the Billboard Music Awards but did you know she also hooked up with MTV Act as the celeb judge for our volunteer trip to Japan. This girl is everywhere this month!
