"Catfish" host Nev Schulman knows a thing or two about being safe on the Internet, and since October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month, now is the perf time for him to talk about this issue.

The Internet can sometimes be like the Wild West, which is why there are now 31 official days to teach you about keeping yourself protected. You can use the hashtag #ncsam to spread awareness on this month, and Nev's link also suggests that you check out the site StopThinkConnect. StopThinkConnect has suggestions to keep yourself safe, like using strong passwords, keeping your personal info away from the general public and remembering to be kind in what you say online.
Nev and Max (in cartoon form) recently talked about this topic. If you haven't seen the article (or cartoon Nev and Max) you've gotta check it:

They've got the lowdown on why it's smart not to give out personal information or post pics that might embarrass you later on. Most of us spend time (sometimes A LOT of time) surfing the world wide web, and it's better and more fun for everyone if we protect ourselves and know what's best to post and not post. As someone in the business of exposing catfish, Nev's seen it all, and he can tell ya the same!
