There's no sleep 'til Brooklyn, and Miley Cyrus is the latest star staying up till August 25 with us.
Miley is going head to head with non other than Mr. Blurred Lines himself, Robin Thicke, to celebrate their nominations in the new category, Best Songs of The Summer (which will no doubt include some homages to barely-there shorts, if either of their videos is any indication).
Miley's already told us she "don't take nothin' from nobody," but she sure does give back. Here are 4 reasons we can't stop thinking about this performance:
+ Miley doesn't always wear a crop top…
…sometimes she just goes naked. Miley stripped down for her Smilers, posing on a Marc Jacobs t-shirt to raise money for cancer research. The shirt tells others to "PROTECT THE SKIN YOU'RE IN," and proceeds go to the New York University Skin Cancer Institute.
+ Miley supports LGBTQ rights and shows it.
When haters claimed Miley's new 'do made her look like a lesbian, the star said, "Being a lesbian isn't a bad thing. So if you think I look like I'm a lesbian, I'm not offended." And even if that engagement to Liam doesn't work out, Miley's got some love on her ring finger. An LGBTQ equality tattoo, that is. But it's not just physical with Miss Cyrus- she recently spoke out in support of gay marriage. For the record, Miley, we think the hair is totally fetch.
+ Miley speaks out about bullying
If we learned anything from the "We Can't Stop" video, it's that computers are for creepy talking masks, not online bullying. In a series of sweet tweets, Miley addressed threats from haters and told her Smilers to make her proud by respecting other artists. Channel all that energy into twerking, guys. No one benefits from bullying.
+ Miley adopts things…
...like animals, and classrooms! Miley's love of furry friends extends past the "We Can't Stop" video (you saw that taxidermy tribute. You did.). The singer has been a longtime advocate for Saving Spot! Dog Rescue in Los Angeles, even asked fans to donate to the cause for her birthday. And pets aren't the only things Miley adopts- she recently appeared on the TV special The Real Change Project: Artists for Education and funded a school in Nashville through Adopt A Classroom! Keep doing your thing, Miley. It's working.
