We're sure Queen Bey gets bajillion requests, but even with the chicken nuggets, this one isn't too outrageous. After all, the singer premiered her video for "I Was Here" at last year's World Humanitarian Day. And that video is even nominated for a VMAs for Best Video with a Social Message!
For those who don't know, World Humanitarian Day is dedicated to honoring those around the world who risk their lives daily to help communities facing natural disasters, poverty and ongoing wars. The event is held every year on the same day, August 19, to commemorate the 22 lives lost in the attack on the United Nations' headquarters in Baghdad in 2003.
But let's get back to Kid President's request. Outside of some convincing role play, there are plenty of reasons Beyoncé should say yes to the partnership. First, as the (child) Commander-in-Chief points out, "I'm just trying to make the world better and you are too -- let's be friends." How can you argue with that? Second, although some might shy away from singing a song to one of the most prolific performers of all time, Kid President knew he had to take his chance. If she watches the video, we think there's no way Beyoncé will be able to say hell no to that tune.
Do you think Beyoncé will respond to Kid President's video? Do you think the chicken nuggets will influence her decision? More importantly, how will you celebrate World Humanitarian Day? This year's event will mark 10 years since the attack, and the United Nations is launching a first-of-its-kind project that will "turn words into aid." The theme is "The World Needs More…" so start thinking about what you'd like to see more of in the world. For ways to get involved in World Humanitarian Day, check out the action widgets below.
