Josh Hutcherson embraced his inner Kobe on Friday, as he played some ball at his very own celebrity basketball charity tournament!
The 2nd Annual Josh Hutcherson Celebrity Basketball Game took place in Los Angeles, and brought out stars including Romeo Miller and James Lafferty. The event benefited Josh's charity, Straight But Not Narrow. The org encourages straight allies, like Josh himself, to take a stand for the LGBTQ community. Uniting together to get the message out that gay, straight, bi, transexual, you are perfect no matter what! Josh was def reppin' that message as his shirt read "Just Be You."
During the event Josh gave out the Straight But Not Narrow Advocate of the Year Award to openly gay NBA player Jason Collins! Jason Tweeted: I am so honored to be given an award tonight by Straight But Not Narrow charity @Nikebball3ON3 @WeAreSBNN #ThankYou. We caught up with Josh last year and he told us, "I have always believed in standing up for what I believe in and I believe that everyone deserves the right to love whoever they love no matter who they are. SBNN is great because it reaches out to the straight community to spread the word about rising up and saying you have the right to be you." Sounds like an inspiring speech that Peeta Mellark would give, right?!
If you are interested in taking a stand alongside Josh, head on over to Straight But Not Narrow to learn more about getting yourself or even your school involved.
