FINALLY. We can open our mouths and publicly freak out over the adorable A's — Austin Mahone and Ariana Grande, as they'll be performing at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show! Pretty soon we're all gonna be singing, "I love the way ... you perform at the VMAs!"
And, you guys, this is QUITE the honor. Last year, Demi Lovato graced the pre-show stage (and also won a VMA for Best Video With a Message for "Skyscraper."). Past performers for the VMAs pre-show include Nicki Minaj (2010), Lil' Wayne (2007) and a back-in-the-day Rihanna (2005).
So why are we feeling BEYOND about these two performing? Well, beside the fact that they're so cute and have infectious songs — they both have legit hearts. But before I get into that, tho, can we all agree that "The Way" should be a Best Song Of The Summer contender along with "Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky"? THANK YOU.
So, yes, these two are so best and here's why:
+ They're Not Down With Bullies
Even when Ariana sings about having a bad boy, she has a good heart. She's opened up about bullying so she could help her Arianators who are going through the same ordeal. "One of the most terrible feelings in the world is knowing that someone else doesn't like you. Especially when you don't know what you've done to deserve it. You start to believe that you are the problem and that you need to change something about yourself to be liked, but I've come to learn that it's really not our problem, it's theirs," wrote Ariana on Huffington Post.

What has she learned from haters? She said it pretty well: "I will always have to deal with disapproval and jealousy in this industry and in life in general, but I'm certainly getting better at this and I want my fans to be able to be secure and blissful with me. Be happy with being you. Love your flaws. Own your quirks."
Austin has also opened up about getting bullied. He told us in the video below, "When I was in high school, back in my hometown, the kids didn't really see me being on YouTube and singing as very cool. They made fun of me. ... I didn't really listen to them. I just kept going and doing my thing, and I'm here." Could you even imagine if he had given up? Mahomies wouldn't exist right now. DAG.
+ They Love To Help Children
Upcoming album. Hit show on Nick. Adorable BF. I have NO IDEA how Ariana handles it all, but she even manages time to help kids out! According to her website, "She co-founded the youth singing group Kids Who Care in south Florida, which raised over $500,000 for charities in 2007 alone. She also traveled to Gugulethu, South Africa to teach music and dance to children as part of Broadway in South Africa."
And Austin isn't staring at his phone during his downtime either! Recently, the "What About Love," singer spread the love at a children's hospital. He went to the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, on behalf of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which has opened a Seacrest Studios at the hospital. The studios serve as broadcast media centers at pediatric hospitals, and they help patients "explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media." The VMA-nominated singer even performed at the hospital. I just hope no one fainted as he sang, "Hey, baby, you got what I need...but you say you're just a friend!" UGH. Story of my life with guys. But I digress.
