Ian Somerhalder strikes his signature smolder as he gets dirty in the pages of Conde Nast Traveler's September 2013 issue.
The environmentalist has no doubt used fame in such a powerful way, by trying to use his voice to spark positive change with his thousands of fans all over the world. In particular, Ian uses social media not to gossip, but rather educate his fans and make a difference.

The mag chose Ian as one of their visionaries (Um, yes times 50), for all his inspiring work with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation and news site, RYOT.org. Ian opened up to CN Traveler revealing:
"We have what governments have been searching for high and low: voice and access. This is the age of social media. People are tired of having their environment poisoned. Policymakers are going to have to listen. We are the policymakers now." Can we get an AMEN? Ian took to the Twitterverse to express his gratitude and Tweeted, "THANK YOU!! @CNTraveler for naming me a Visionary!"
