It's been months now since "Star Wars VII" was announced and still we have nothing to go off of but director J. J. Abrams. So when will we be getting our answers? Anthony Daniels (who plays C-3P0) seems to think all will be revealed at this year's Star Wars Celebration in Germany. "It's all very early days," explains Daniels in a recent interview with Digital Spy. "I don't want to wear anybody out by speculating or letting you waste your energy by saying 'What do you think?' I'm certainly not sitting by the phone, but it's always nice when it rings."
Does this mean that C-3P0 will be returning for the upcoming "Star Wars" trilogy? If so, then what other "Star Wars" characters might be popping up in the new films? I'm not talking about Luke Skywalker or Han Solo, I'm talking about those memorable minor characters; like Doctor Evazan, who threatens Luke for no apparent reason at the Mos Eisley Cantina in "A New Hope."
Who?
Born on the planet Alsakan, it is unknown whether or not Doctor Evazan ever truly earned his medical degree. His application to the Imperial Academy was rejected immediately as the good doctor came off as a tad too insane during the interview process. Instead, Evazan was sent to prison on the planet Delrian. Soon, Evazan escaped the prison world and fled to the Hindasar system where he began experimenting on his patients' internal organs with the hopes of finding the key to immortality; putting a huge bounty on his head and earning him the nickname "Doctor Death."
After being shot in the face by the bounty hunter Jodo Kast, Evazan forms a mutually beneficial partnership with the Aqualish thug Ponda Babba. The two outlaws high tail it to the desert planet Tatooine, where they encounter Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Mos Eisley Cantina. With a few drinks too many in his system, Evazan makes the mistake of threatening Skywalker's life forcing the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan to slice off Ponda Babba's arm.
Why?
First and foremost, Doctor Evazan has the death sentence on twelve systems. He and Ponda Babba are wanted men; two of the most notorious outlaws in the entire galaxy. Not to mention the fact that they both hold a very personal grudge against Luke Skywalker. We've already seen how the Republic deals with the likes of the Sith. Now let's see how they handle genuine, scalpel-wielding psychopaths.
How?
Remember how I said Evazan was searching for the key to immortality?
Well, what if he actually discovered it? In the "Star Wars" Expanded Universe, Evazan actually creates a mind transference machine; deducing that immortality, in fact, lies within the mind and not the body. That being said, Luke and the Rebel Alliance are in for a world of hurt once the good doctor and his Aqualish henchman, complete with a new cybernetic arm, figure out how to cheat death.
