There are only a handful of people in Hollywood that have the inside scoop on "Interstellar," the upcoming science fiction film from Christopher Nolan, and one of those people happens to be on a press tour right now promoting a movie.
MTV News' Josh Horowitz sat down with Matthew McConaughey, the man tapped to star in the time travel movie, and he kept a pretty tight lid on what's going on with "Interstellar."
He couldn't even really discuss how he came to join the project for the sake of keeping company secrets. "Oh, I can tell you a little bit, but even that is sort of under lock and key. It really is," McConaughey said.
"For whatever reason and most of them I understand, they choose to say 'That's our business and how we do it. We don't advertise it.' I spoke to him months ago, not about anything specific, but he, obviously, is a man who makes his own choices from an independent state. I'm glad that he saw something in me that he thinks that I should be the guy."
The little McConaughey would say about the script by Nolan, based on a draft by his brother Jonathan, was unsurprisingly positive. "I give it a thumbs up" he said.
After going through an extreme physical transformation for "Dallas Buyers Club," can we expect something equally crazy for "Interstellar"? "The prep, I'm not telling you anymore," McConaughey said. "You're doing good though. A lot of people are [excited]. I'm not saying anything."
"Interstellar" opens on November 7, 2014.
