Armie Hammer is trading one big costar for another. After teaming with Johnny Depp in "The Lone Ranger," he will reportedly be starring opposite Tom Cruise in the upcoming "The Man From U.N.C.L.E."

Deadline has learned that Hammer is slated to play United Network Command for Law Enforcement agent Illya Kuryakin in the new movie. He will team up with Cruise, who will play fellow agent Napoleon Solo. Together they'll have to fend off the villainous forces of Thrush.

Guy Ritchie is slated to direct "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." after Steven Sodenbergh passed on it. The TV series that the movie is based on ran from 1964 to 1968 and starred Robert Vaughan and David McCallum in the main roles. This will be Hammer's first time working with both Cruise and Ritchie.

Following his breakout in "The Social Network," Hammer hasn't been the sole lead in a film yet, but working alongside greats like Depp and Cruise is certainly sending him off on the right direction.
