Ke$ha, who recently talked about how she doesn't consider herself gay or straight, is super excited about the possibility of same-sex marriage becoming legal in the United Kingdom. Right now the UK has civil partnerships for same-sex couples, and Ke$ha wants to get her UK fans pumped up and ready to take the next step.

The singer (who will be premiering a new show, "My Crazy Beautiful Life" on MTV in April)  Tweeted this bit of political news:

Here's the lowdown from England: on Tuesday, Members of Parliament voted 400 to 175 in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage. That doesn't mean all is said and done, though. Like in America, there are several steps before something becomes law. The bill still needs to be approved again by the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

The Church of England has announced that it opposes the bill, saying that the UK's existing civil partnership laws "already confer the same rights as marriage" and that changing legislation on marriage would cause legal issues. But Prime Minister David Cameron has thrown his weight behind the bill "not only as someone who believes in equality but as someone who believes passionately in marriage."

There is still time for residents of the United Kingdom to let their opinions be known on the matter. For Ke$ha, it's all about finding love, no matter the sex or orientation of the other person. "I love people," she said. "It's not about a gender. It's just about the spirit that exudes from that other person you're with."
