Everyone has his or her favorite Beyoncé. There's Destiny's Child Bey, "Crazy in Love" Bey, "Baby Boy" Bey…the list goes on. Thanks to last night's Beyoncé Bowl Super Bowl XLVII halftime performance, we were treated to all of those and more! With the use of holograms, we no longer have to wonder what the world would be like if there were more than one Beyoncé, because we saw for ourselves: it'd be awesome.
We've written about holograms before, but I think it's time to revisit the subject, because (sorry, Tupac) Beyoncé might have the best hologram performance of all time. Here are four holograms we'd love to see and the artists they'd perform with -- all for a cause, of course!
+ Justin Bieber & Notorious B.I.G. Give Pencils of Promise
Both Bieber and Biggie were raised by strong-willed single moms and have a vested interest in education: Justin supports Pencils of Promise which helps bring education to children in poverty all over the world. While Biggie famously rapped, that he was "considered a fool 'cause I dropped out of high school," his mom still talks about how her son was a straight "A" student in school. With a benefit concert for Pencils of Promise and education worldwide, we think "Sky's The Limit" would be an ideal fit: the two performers could really drive home the point that -- with education -- the sky really is the limit to achieving your dreams.
+ Alicia Keys & Whitney Houston Keep a Child Alive
Alicia Keys and Whitney Houston are two powerhouse performers in their own right, and after last night, both women have given awe-inspiring performances of our national anthem before the Super Bowl. It only makes sense to have these two onstage together to support a cause close to Alicia's heart: Keep a Child Alive. The org is devoted to providing treatment, care, and support to children and families in Africa and India affected by HIV/AIDS. Whitney even attended a Keep A Child gala in 2010! They can sing Whitney's "Greatest Love Of All," because a line like "I believe in the children of the future" is the perfect sentiment for helping children in need.
+ Drake & Aaliyah Sing For Girl Power
It's no secret that Drake is an Aaliyah stan. I mean, he has a tat of her on his back and even sings with an Aaliyah earpiece on. So...we think he'd appreciate the opportunity to bring her onstage to support a cause he's passionate about: helping young girls feel more empowered. With her song "One In A Million," Drake and Aaliyah could remind girls of their place in the world: that they're all unique, capable of standing out and going after their dreams.
+ Selena Gomez & Selena Quintanilla-Pérez Unite For UNICEF
If this is our fantasy hologram lineup, we think it's only fitting Selena Gomez should have a chance to perform with her namesake. I mean, can you imagine the two on stage together? As a UNICEF Ambassador, Gomez is no stranger to benefit concerts. With a pairing like this, we think a worldwide dance party would be the perfect backdrop for a new, fun twist on a concert that gives back. The two Selena's singing "Baila Esta Cumbia," would inspire dance marathon that wouldn't quit -- all while benefiting children around the world
