As the manager of Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Cody Simpson and The Wanted, Scooter Braun (best. name. ever.) is one of pop's most powerful mover-and-shakers. Dude's like the Tween Godfather. But he's not just out to dominate the soundtrack of America's youth -- he wants to help us shape a better future, too!

But waaaait, why does a hotshot music exec like Scooter care about kids skipping school and screwing up their lives? Turns out he's also a big-time social activist, especially when it comes to his brother Adam's nonprofit Pencils of Promise, which builds schools in developing countries. (Man, their mom must be crazy proud.) Plus, y'all should know about Pencils of Promise since we've made sure to put it on blast as one of the Justin's fave charities. Apparently the Biebz agrees with his boy Braun that "education truly is the cornerstone of humanity."

Damn skippy! So that's why Scooter was all about working with filmmaker Jason Pollock ("The Youngest Candidate"), fellow producers like Adam McKay (Will Ferrell's BFF and director of "Anchorman" & "Talladega Nights") and educational partner Get Schooled (MTV is one of their main media homies) to bring us "Undroppable" -- a special educational social media campaign and documentary (coming out in mid 2013) dedicated to combating our country's seriously scary dropout rate.

And yes, it is waaaaay scary. Didja know that about 1 million American high school students fail to graduate every year?! Dropouts are more likely than high school graduates to be unemployed; in poor health; living in poverty, in prison, or on public assistance; and have children who also drop out of high school.

Unforch, there are parts of this country that are seriously struggling, but sometimes the most down-and-out places are where you can find the most inspiring stories of success. "Undroppable" aims to boost diploma desire by sharing the motivating voices of students, teachers and parents from these hard-hit areas who are beating the odds and still getting their cap 'n gowns. Jason traveled to 6 disadvantaged schools to film over 60 interviews showing the struggles and setbacks of our modern school system.

Here's a clip of from one of these students that Jason interviewed. Meet Jaureese Gaines from Chicago. His best friend was killed two steps away from the front gate of his house. He has also witnessed three people get shot in his neighborhood. Jaureese has received $240,000 of scholarship money for college. AND he's also the valedictorian this year at Collins Academy and was the quarterback of the school. Talk about overcoming adversity.

As Scooter explains, "Addressing the education crisis in America, which includes providing support for the communities and students where 'dropout factories' exist, has to become a priority for our country. We hope that this project reminds everyone, from career politicians to kids sitting in their dorm rooms, how important it is that every child receives a quality education and as a community it is our responsibility to step up and do everything we can to make sure that happens."
