This Sunday is Father's Day (have you gotten Dad his gift yet?!) and Ludacris, who's the father of an adorable girl named Karma, seems to have the big day on his mind.
He tweeted a link to a video of Tracy Martin, Trayvon Martin's dad:
A powerful, emotional Father's Day message from Trayvon's dad... bit.ly/LJh883
— Ludacris (@Ludacris) June 13, 2012
In the video, Tracy talks about how this will be his first Father's Day without his son and how last year 30,000 fathers mourned the loss of their children from gun violence. His prayers go out to them, and he encourages them to contact their governors if their state has "Stand Your Ground" laws.
Ludacris has also done advocacy as a dad, alongside his daughter Karma. He started up the educational site Karma's World that teaches the lil' ones (through Karma's singing talents!) everything from manners to state capitals. Now how's that for some awesome daddy-daughter teamwork? And Ludacris definitely has his eyes on helping young people -- that's also the mission of his Ludacris Foundation.
So what are you going to be up to this Father's Day? A little more than brunch and a card? We can wish Happy Father's Day to our fathers and Tracy, too. Oh, and Luda! We think he ought to get some pretty good "karma" for spreading this touching video.
