How would you like to buy an hour of Common's time? You can! Common is auctioning of some one-on-one time, and the proceeds are going to 826 LA, an organization dedicated to supporting students with their creative and expository writing skills. Common left us a short, teasing tweet and a link that explains more of what's up:

The hip hop man himself has teamed up with Charitybuzz for the online auction (sorry, no hammer on a gavel when it's done). The auction will be going on till this Friday (June 15), and the winner will be rewarded with an hour's time chatting it up with Common in either Los Angeles or Chicago.

So far there's a few thousand dollars down to hang with Common, and that money is being spent on an important charity: 826 LA. Its mission is to help students from the ages of six to eighteen with their writing skills. Being a good writer is ve-e-ery helpful in life -- a fact 826 LA takes seriously, in a very fun way! The org offers creative writing workshops, both after school and in school support, and help for students learning English as a second language.

Common is a lyricist -- if you win, maybe you can hit up 826 for some poetry writing tips so you can spit a rhyme or two with him? Just throwing it out there... If you love Common and you love the idea of helping students with their writing skills, it's time to dig into your wallet.
