In a recent interview with "Cosmopolitan," Darren Criss discussed what it's like to be straight while playing gay on TV.

It's a testament to how deftly "Glee" handles storylines with LGBTQ characters that no one really batted an eye when Demi Lovato signed on for a guest starring role as a love interest for Naya Rivera. This is largely thanks to the powerful storytelling of Kurt and Blaine's relationship, which has fans rooting for a happily ever after for their favorite "Glee" guys.

As a new "Cosmo Guy," Criss opened up about the mood at McKinley High with Cory Monteith's absence, the best advice he's learned from an ex, and, yes, what it's like playing an LGBTQ character as a straight actor. Criss denied feeling any pressure to demonstrate his heterosexuality because, in his words, "I know who I am."

The actor goes on to say that he feels bad for the types of guys who feel like they have to "flex their muscles" to prove something. However, Criss is quick to point out he's not judging. He's all for people being comfortable with who they are as long as not antagonizing anybody.  If "getting a Miata" makes you feel like a man, Criss wants you to "go for it," but just make sure you're not "a dick about it."
