By now, you've seen Will, Willow, and Jaden Smith's shocked reactions to Miley Cyrus' VMA performance. Well, it turns out they weren't reacting to Miley at all

+ Watch Miley Cyrus perform "We Can't Stop/Blurred Lines/Give It 2 U (Medley)."

Although I made a face a lot like Jaden's when Miley twerked up on MY baby daddy, Robin Thicke, it turns out the Smith's facial expressions were actually captured during Lady Gaga's show-opening performance of "Applause." Orrrr they could be reacting to the following crazy facts:

+ In Africa, people spend 40 billion hours every year walking for water.

The Smith fam is super passionate about bringing clean drinking water to the 780 million people in the world who live without it. So passionate, in fact, that Will and Jada traveled to Ethiopia with charity:water to help drill fresh water wells and raise awareness surrounding the world's water crisis. Their VMA facial expressions are are obvi out of concern over how much water they're gonna have to drink to cool off after Miley's hot performance!

+ 1 in 2 sexually active young people will get an STD by 25.

According to MTV's It's Your (Sex) Life, half of all sexually active young people will get an STD by age 25. Abstinence is the only surefire way to prevent this, but condoms and regular testing will seriously decrease your chances of facing a reality scarier than Miley's dancing teddy bears.

+ At least 10,000 species go extinct every year.

Although there will never be a shortage of big bears at a Miley show, one of the largest bears on Earth is in danger of extinction: the giant panda. As of 2004, there were only 1,600 left in the wild! Hunting and habitat loss are to blame for the sharp decrease in the panda population, and once they're gone, no amount of twerking can bring them back!
