We've seen a lot of Lena Dunham over the past few years. Although Dunham has often faced backlash for not looking like the majority of women in Hollywood, she recently spoke up about what keeps her loving her body.
We got our first look at the Dunham's UK Marie Claire cover when she posted the image to Instagram. In the caption, she relayed her experience trying to find flattering and fantastic clothes at her size, saying that it was "such a relief to be dressed by a designer who doesn't feel that women sizes 4 and up belong in a belted sack." The "Girls" star rocks an Erdem dress on the cover, and she clearly doesn't look like someone who belongs in "a gang of art teachers."
In the 25th anniversary issue, Dunham talks about how, despite outside pressure, she's managed to maintain a positive body image from a young age. She credits her parents, who "both have really healthy attitudes about their own bodies but also about the range of things that can be beautiful," for her confidence. Although Dunham knows her body doesn't fit "a traditional Hollywood idea of the female body," she said her parents made sure she knew she was worthy of love and respect regardless.

We love that Dunham has translated that confidence and body positivity into her work on screen, and we hope more shows take her lead. If you're looking for ways you can start loving your body more, just take a cue from the "Girls" creator's younger self. She used to look in the mirror and, reflecting on her body, think that everyone else is "so lucky that they get to look at me."
