Hey, Girl, you'll want to check out this post, because Ryan Gosling wants to bring your attention to a very noble cause. The swoon-worthy actor and activist wrote an opinion piece in Canada's largest newspaper, Globe and Mail, to raise awareness about an animal rights issue that is close to his heart: securing better lives for pregnant pigs.
In the article, Gosling breaks hearts by talking about the bond he has with his dog, George. Gosling knows the relationship he has with his furry best friend is "not unique," and that it's been proven that some animals have "individual personalities…and that they feel both physical and mental pain."

Inspired by his love for his dog, Gosling's passionate article, written on behalf of Farm Sanctuary and the Humane Society International, calls his fellow Canadians to stop the pork industry from using gestation crates. According to the Humane Society International, the pregnant pigs are held in these crates for four months, "moved to another cage to give birth, reimpregnated and put back into a gestation crate for the cycle to repeat."
Gosling's article calls for the Canada's National Farm Animal Care Council to close a loophole in its recent code of practice draft. This loophole would still allow the pork industry "to lock pigs in gestation crates for up to five weeks at a time." The actor urged the organization to close the loophole and prohibit the industry from confining the pigs to the gestation crates even for weeks at a time.
