Whenever a young actor is a part of an enormously popular series of films, "The Twlight Saga" for example," the public keeps a close eye on what they do after the series ends, usually expecting big things. Rob and Kristen for the most part have gone off, following their own independent spirits, to low budget art films, but we have not heard too much from the rest of the cast, leaving the franchise without another true breakout star, until now.
That's because Mackenzie Foy, the young actress who played Renesmee Cullen, is the real breakout star from "Twilight."
You may have not heard too much from Mackenzie since "Breaking Dawn - Part 2's" head-rippingly exciting finale, but with a new movie, "The Conjuring," opening this week and a high-profile gig just announced, Foy is well on her way.
Foy has just been cast in Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi film "Interstellar" (via THR). The film already has an incredible roster of actors including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Casey Affleck.
Like all of Nolan's movies, the details around "Interstellar" have been locked up tight, but we know that an earlier version of the script by Jonathan Nolan dealt heavily with space, wormholes, and time travel.
"The Conjuring" comes from the team behind "Insidious" and has already generated a good amount of buzz in the horror community. In it, Foy plays a member of a family haunted by a dark presence.
Suffice to say that we'll be keeping an eye on Mackenzie Foy, because it looks like there are big things ahead of this 12 year-old.
"The Conjuring" opens in theaters on Friday, July 19.
