Forbes just released its list of highest paid actors, and, well, it make me feel really. freaking. poor. But there are no hard feelings here, because the top 5 fellas also happen to be extremely generous philanthropists.
+ Robert Downey Jr.: $75 Million
"The Avengers" was the third highest-grossing movie of all time, and Robert Downey Jr. was the highest-paid actor in it. Ka-ching! Following Hurricane Sandy, Robert surprised the brave young members of the New York City Police Athletic League at a special "Iron Man 3" screening. The 39 kids volunteered in the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy, and he wanted to thank them personally. "I'm from New York and Tony Stark's from New York, so I guess that means Iron Man's from New York," Downey said to the crowd. "I just want to say thank you to the Police Athletic League and all of you folks. I know you're all here because you've been doing something special in the five boroughs, for this great city."
+ Channing Tatum: $60 Million
I guess stripping really does pay off! Channing Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh self-financed "Magic Mike" themselves, and when it blew up, so did their bank accounts! Channing knows all about makin' it rain, so naturally, he's also passionate about saving the rainforest. He and his wife recently raised millions for the Rainforest Foundation, an org that helps preserve our world's most precious land.
+ Hugh Jackman: $55 Million
Hugh Jackman may be raking in the big bucks, be he also knows that most people in the world survive on much less. The "Les Miserables" star recently asked fans to take the Live Below The Line challenge and live on less than $1.50 a day for five days -- an everyday reality for the 1.4 billion people in the world living in extreme poverty.
+ Mark Wahlberg: $52 Million
Mark Wahlberg can thank a movie about a teddy bear for his spot on this year's list! In spite of his great success, many people don't know that the eloquent actor dropped out of high school in the 9th grade! Mark pledged to graduate from school this year, and paired with Get Schooled to encourage his young fans to do the same. "My job has always been that much more difficult because I didn't pay attention in school," he told us. "It's such an uphill battle, not having an education, to try to succeed in life."
+ Dwayne Johnson: $46 Million
Let's take a bet on how many "Fast & Furious" movies Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will make before he retires. 10? 20? 50?! And what will the last one be called? "Light Speed & Really F***ing Angry"?! Back in '07, he and his ex-wife donated $1 million to the University of Miami to fund the renovation of its football facilities. What a generous beefcake.
