Hair gel. Fist pumping. Being generally DTF (Down To Fetch!). These are just a few of DJ Pauly D's favorite things. The former "Jersey Shore" star is taking his love of animals to the next level and urging people to "Adopt, Don't Shop" when looking for a pet.
We've talked about puppy mills before. We all know that they're large-scale breeding operations where puppies are seriously neglected in horrible conditions. But did you know that most puppies sold in pet stores still come from puppy mills? Well Pauly D is teaming up with the ASPCA to make sure you've got the 411. The ASPCA Ambassador took to the organization's blog to convince readers to join in on the fight against this form of animal cruelty.
Now that you're heartbroken over what is happening to our furry friends, here's how you can help. Pauly D wants you to take this pledge to commit to not buying anything from stores or websites that sell puppies. If you're looking for a four-legged addition to your family, make sure you adopt instead of buying from a pet store. To let as many people know about puppy mill as possible, you can take part in "No Pet Store Puppies" Day on July 21 and raise your voice on Facebook and Twitter.
