Malala Yousafzai, an education activist who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban, celebrated her 16th birthday by speaking at the first ever United Nations Youth Assembly on Friday, also known as Malala Day.
Her powerful and inspirational speech encouraged students all over the world to fight for quality education in our communities. There are currently 57 million children not attending school and 15 million working full-time in lieu of studying. Malala and youth representatives from all over the world aim to have every student enrolled in school by 2015. I wrote about the big highlights from Malala Day and below, are the four inspiring quotes from the day.
