The Pixar shorts have always been dependable as sources of light entertainment that don't skimp on adorableness, and the newest bite-sized feature from the animation house, "The Blue Umbrella," fits the bill.

The directorial debut of technical artist Saschka Unseld, "The Blue Umbrella" tells the story of two umbrellas that hit it off on one rainy day. And it's really freakin' cute.

As you probably noticed from the clip, "The Blue Umbrella" goes for a more photorealistic look than other Pixar films, something that's not lost on John Lasseter.

"We had never at Pixar attempted to produce images that looked absolutely photorealistic," he said. "We always took the tools that were capable of creating photorealistic imagery and created images the audience knew did not exist in the real world."

It's also worth noting that musician Jon Brion is said to be scoring the short.

You can see "The Blue Umbrella" in front of "Monsters University," which upon in theaters on June 21.
