We may be in for the TV revival of our dreams, but it looks like we're not exactly getting the Bluth family reunion we were hoping for.

If you're anything like us, you've desperately been keeping your eyes peeled for any "Arrested Development" news in the past few months. That said, you most likely know by now that each new episode this spring will focus on a single character—but that detail comes with a new twist. Creator Mitchell Hurwitz recently revealed to USA Today that Michael, played by Jason Bateman, is the only member of the Bluth clan set to make consistent appearances throughout the 13 or 14 episodes.

Picking up eight years after the Bluths fled from the law, the plot will unfold without the gang ever crossing paths. "The bigger story is the family has fallen apart at the start of our show," Hurwitz told USA Today. "They all went their own way, without Michael holding them together, so they're left to their own devices, and they're not the most successful devices." He added: "The show will look very different.... We're not jumping from one thing to another; you're staying in one character."

But that doesn't mean we'll never see them together again, ever, because let's face it—that would be both very tragic and cruel. Hurwitz also mentioned that the new structure is meant to be a precursor, or "first act," to an "Arrested Development" movie. So, really, it's all going to be worth it in the end.
