Words Of Wisdom 'Bout Our Bods From 8 #RealTalk Stars Nov 28th 2012, 19:06 Photo: (Getty) How much you weigh can carry a lot of, well, weight in people's minds, and this can sometimes lead to feelings of insecurity or even bring about eating disorders. But a bunch of celebs are saying #OhHellNaw to this, and they want you to love yourself and be healthy. Easier said than done but we got some words of wisdom from some #RealTalk stars. We have eight awesome ladies who show that self-love and good health is where it's at, and they're all notable quotables. These women have faced pressure to look a certain way -- from Jennifer Lawrence supposedly not being thin enough for her role as Katniss in "The Hunger Games" to Christina Aquilera getting flack at the AMAs. But they show that love is louder than bullying, and that loving yourself is beautiful. Hear it from themselves below! "I've never wanted to look like the models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that." - Adele "I don't wanna be shaped like a girl I LOVE being shaped like a WOMAN & trust me ladies your man won't mind either." - Miley Cyrus "To moms everywhere, we need to educate our girls not to fall prey to thinspirational images of beauty. So where do we start? By being very careful about how we talk about our own bodies in front of our daughters. We can show our daughters diverse images of beautiful women: curvy, tall, short, and everything in-between."- Tyra Banks "When people talk about my weight, I'm like, `You seem to have a problem with it; I don't. I'm fine! I've never felt uncomfortable on the red carpet or anything." - Kelly Clarkson "I've always been one to make it very clear, love me or hate me, take it or leave it, this is who I am. I embrace my body, and I embrace everything about myself. . . I'm embracing everything that I've grown to be and learned to be." - Christina Aguilera "I'm never going to starve myself for a part…I don't want little girls to be like, 'Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I'm going to skip dinner. That's something I was really conscious of during training, when you're trying to get your body to look exactly right. I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong -- not thin and underfed." - Jennifer Lawrence "Most models are thinner than 98% of Americans. Instead of trying to change our bodies, how about we try to change our culture?" - Demi Lovato "I'm comfortable with me. I love my curves. I'm not ever going to be a size 0 and weigh 90 pounds." - Jessica Simpson | |
