How would you feel about shaving your head to fight cancer and stand in solidarity with patients who lost their hair from chemo? Lady Gaga's done it, country singer Kellie Pickler's done it, and now Indianapolis Colts cheerleaders have done it.
Earlier this football season, Colts coach Chuck Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia. After his diagnosis, a CHUCKSTRONG campaign was born and the Colts are doing what they can to raise money for leukemia research and to honor their coach. But it's not just the players getting involved -- the cheerleaders have also gotten in on the action.
Cheerleader Megan M. said she would shave her head if $10,000 could be raised for CHUCKSTRONG. Two weeks passed, and more than $22,000 was raised! During the Colts' game on Sunday, Megan had her head shaved in the space between the third and fourth quarter. While Megan was the initial cheerleader to offer her hair up, she was joined by Crystal Ann, another cheerleader. And it was the team's mascot, Blue, that did the shaving.
The cheerleaders' support is getting a lot of buzz online, but they're not the first to do this. Who here remembers when Lady Gaga shaved part of her head after her friend and photographer Terry Richardson lost his mom to cancer? And Kellie Pickler showed what an awesome BFF she was when she shaved her entire head after a friend was diagnosed with the C-word. Are we going to see more and more shaved heads out there? What do you think? Would you shave your head to fight cancer? Weigh in on our poll below!
