If you're a bookworm like me, you know there's no such thing as too many books. (Maybe there's not enough shelf space, but that's another story.) And all you bookworm philanthropists out there need to give Common a hand, because he has some amazing reading/giving news for you.
The rapper Tweeted:
This is a great org that gives books to kids.northparan.comkeep up the good work @northparan fb.me/1TkKuSJIU

North Paran is an online bookstore that concentrates on books about or by African Americans. And every time they sell a book, they give a brand new children's book to a child who might not be able to afford or get books otherwise. Now that's a win-win situation, and it's a perf idea for the holiday season. North Paran works with non-profits from around the globe to keep their buy-a-book-donate-a-book structure going.
There are different categories of books you can get, including Bargain Books, Kids & Teens and Literature & Fiction. And didja know that Common is an author himself? In 2011 Atria Books published his memoir "One Day It'll All Make Sense," and North Paran has it as one of their titles.
Of course, this isn't the first time we've heard about Common helping kids. He started the Common Ground Foundation to help out young people, especially inner city youth. So why not join forces with the rapper and buy a book so you can give a book?
