There are going to be a number of familiar faces in "Wreck-It Ralph." From Bowser to Chun-Li to "Pac-Man"'s Clyde to Sonic the Hedgehog, there doesn't seem to be anyone that Disney forgot to pack in to its animated homage to video games. Four new posters (via IGN) have come out showing off some of the video game characters who will be making an appearance in the movie, and they have whet our appetite for more.
"Wreck-It Ralph" might not hit theaters until November 2, but we've decided to put together our own list of characters we hope show up in one form or another in the movie. Read on to see who we chose, and share your own favorites below.
Master Chief
Few game franchises have been defined by their hero the way the "Halo" series has been defined by Master Chief. The villain in those games isn't as clear (it's hard to represent the entire Covenant or Flood with one single character), so why not just bring our favorite Spartan into "Wreck-It Ralph" instead? Maybe he could end up being a love interest for Sergeant Calhoun, since she looks like she's an amalgamation of his character and some others anyways.
Ganondorf
When a rivalry has lasted for generations, that's when you know you have the makings of a real villain. Both Ganondorf and Link have been reincarnated in many different forms during the "Legend of Zelda" series, but they always seem to find their way back to each other. Link has defeated Ganondorf just about every time, which means the big red-headed baddie likely has a chip on his shoulder. Sounds like he should probably go in for some counseling -- and meet Wreck-It Ralph.
Mario
Sure, we probably should have given Luigi his time in the spotlight, but with Bowser as one of the villains in this game, it only makes sense that his nemesis be in the movie as well. "Wreck-It Ralph" is all about a villain becoming sick of being a game's bad guy, and we're sure Bowser can relate. We wonder what sort of cathartic session he and Mario could have if they just talked their problems through (and maybe gave the whole kidnapping-then-saving Peach thing a rest).
GLaDOS
Ah, our favorite Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, how we adore you. GLaDOS is one of the best and most memorable villains to be introduced to the world of gaming in the past five years, and it's pretty much mandatory that she at least cameo in "Wreck-It Ralph." Chell might have escaped at the end of "Portal 2," but that doesn't mean GLaDOS is done tormenting the living. Maybe this time she appears the cake won't be a lie.
Lara Croft
What? Disney's got to get adults into theaters somehow.
