Who gets our vote for most compassionate person of the week (besides Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield), you ask? Funnyman Russell Brand it is! The yoga-loving comedian was leaving his workout when he saw a homeless man in need on the street, and took time to lend a hand.
He didn't just hand out some spare change -- he gave the man his shirt and a water bottle. It gets better... he then proceeded to give the man a lift in his Range Rover to an AA meeting that Brand was reportedly attending. Photos show the homeless man giving paparazzi the thumbs up after having a chat with Russell. The 37-year-old is has battled addiction for years, and credits regular AA meeting's and transcendental meditation to being sober since 2002.

When it comes to homelessness, it's an issue that affects more and more young people. Right now, there are around 1.5 million homeless youth living on our streets. Can you believe that?! It isn't always so easy to help or sometimes we just don't know how. Some students in California even offer free foot care to their community's homeless population. And remember Inocente and the support system she found in the arts? Her organization, and many others, are always looking for help. But sometimes, all it takes is following an organization on Twitter to be in the know about when your help is needed. Learn more by taking action below!
