Who's going to AIDS Walk New York on May 20th?! More people than you think... Did you know this is the largest AIDS fundraising event in the world? It is estimated that more than 45,000 walkers and 2,500 volunteers will come out to support, among them: Nick Jonas, Keri Hilson and Wendy Williams. How you doin'?
Nick Jonas has actively used his platform to raise awareness about AIDS. Last month, he performed at Broadway Cares' annual event, which raised over $3.6 million! Keri Hilson took time out of her crazyyyy schedule, too, making a video for AIDS Walk supporters (which you can watch below). On May 20th she will be walking for the MTV Staying Alive Foundation -- and Keri is hoping 100 fans will join her!
The MTV Staying Alive Foundation is a campaign to encourage, energize, and empower young people who are involved in HIV/AIDS awareness, education and prevention campaigns. You can join Keri & MTV Staying Alive's team or donate by taking action below.
There are plenty of other ways to get involved with AIDS Walk New York (or at an AIDS Walk near you)! Forming your own team to walk, volunteering, sponsoring a walker, or even just making a donation are all ways you can get involved.
Currently AIDS Walk New York has raised over $2 million, and all the money raised will go to 41 different AIDS service organizations in the Tri -State area. HIV is a global issue, but incredible events like AIDS Walk are sparking up this vital conversation!
