He's a living legend, and he knows what it's like to be Livin' on a Prayer. Through his music and civic engagement, Jon Bon Jovi has leveraged his rock star status to be an awesome crusader for his community and his country. Last summer, he visited youth in schools and shelters across the U.S. to learn about how they're dealing with our country's tough economy. An alarming 6.7 million young people are out of school or unemployed. That's cray! They need jobs and America needs their skills and talents.
That's why Jon recently teamed up with the SparkAction and the Youth Leadership Institute to launch the SparkOpportunity Challenge, a crowdsourcing competition for young people (between the ages of 13 to 35) to share solutions on how to stimulate job creation for youth. The winners will receive an iPad and funding to help make their ideas a reality.
I've been checking out some of the entries that have been submitted so far, and we got some good ones. From an urban arts mentoring program to a youth investment fund, the sky's the limit. To enter the contest, take action below!
