HammRad has a nice ring to it, don't you think? Well, we hope so because it might be a nickname you start hearing quite often. "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm and Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, are rumored to be cast together in a four-part British miniseries playing Russian doctors at the end of World War I. And here's the really awesome part: Hamm and Radcliffe would play the same role in different time periods.
The news was originally reported by The Sun and we were a little skeptical as to whether it could actually be true, but Vulture has weighed in today to say the rumors line up with what they've been hearing.
According to the British tabloid, Hamm will narrate the story and interact with Radcliffe's character in a few scenes. They write that the series "will incorporate dark humour as the doctor attempts to overcome self-doubts about his competence." Sounds intriguging, but they already had us at Radcliffe-and-Hamm-playing-the-same-doctor.
At first we couldn't picture Radcliffe as a younger Don Draper, but the more we look at pictures of them side by side, the more we see the resemblances. Same mouth, same nose, similar eyebrows. Obviously key physical ingredients when playing similar characters. We can only hope The Sun is correct and we'll get to see Dr. HammRad in action sooner rather than later.
