With yesterday's global fan event, the "Hobbit" folks kicked it into publicity override in the run-up to the second film in the fantasy series, "The Desolation of Smaug." The gathering via satellite brought fans in attendance and online 20 new minutes from the new movie, a trailer, and the long-awaited next video blog.
You can check out the third trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" over at MTV News, but we've got Peter Jackson's newest video blog, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at the ten weeks of pick-ups that took place in the spring and summer.
The reshoots focused on the last two films of the trilogy, and as Jackson explains in the blog, they covered a lot of the most dramatic material in the entire series.
"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" opens in theaters on December 13.
