Odds are you've been noticing Nolan Gerard Funk's face lately, whether you're watching him on shows like "Awkward" or "Glee." Get ready to see more of him, because he's now the face of the Kids Beating Cancer public awareness campaign.

Margaret Voight Guedes started Kids Beating Cancer in 1992, after losing her son John to leukemia. KBC's mission is to help kids who have been diagnosed with serious illnesses by making sure they get the treatment they need even if their family can't afford to pay. They also help patients who need transplants by testing potential donors (they've tested almost 40,000 people!).

Staying at a hospital can be scary and sad for young children, so Kids Beating Cancer also offers Bunky's Pals program, which gives them toys like Teddy Bears (see Nolan's picture) and fun activities to do.

There are different ways you can help Kids Beating Cancer, like signing yourself up to be a possible bone marrow donor. If you want to do that (you must be at least 18), you've just got to fill out some paperwork and swab your cheek. Then you'll be put in a database that doctors use when they're looking for donors. Donations are also always welcome. And in terms of helping hospitalized kids in general, you can also follow the Bunky the Bear idea and donate your old toys to a nearby hospital. It's hard to look in Nolan's eyes and not want to do something to help!
