Many people support causes when they take part in marathons and other runs, and Lady Gaga is psyched that some runners at the New York Marathon were there to support her cause, The Born This Way Foundation.
The "Venus" singer Tweeted:
The @BTWFoundation has NINE born brave runners out their today! Running for self-empowerment, against the winds of intolerance. We love u!

She also gave words of support directly to the runners:
lovely to hear the marathon runners this morning. Wiggle your fingers and toes, keep that circulation going. New York loves you, champions.

Lady Gaga's mom, Cynthia Germanotta, blogged about the Born This Way runners for the Huffington Post. "In light of the 48,000 individuals banding together to accomplish 26.2 miles through this dynamic city, I'd like to ask you to let us know how we can -- together -- work to keep young people physically and mentally well, and committed to building the world that we want them to inherit," she wrote.
The HuffPost piece continues with thoughts from BTW Youth Advisory Board, including 19-year-old Annie saying, "The terms 'physical wellness' and 'mental wellness' seem overwhelming. These terms don't mean that you need to become a fitness junkie or spiritual guru; they just mean that you need to take care of yourself."
21-year-old Shakeera talked about using mantras to help with your health: "As I went through hard times I had to start speaking positive things to myself. For instance, 'I can do all things; I am unique; I am loved; I am passionate and will create a positive change in my community.'"
What do you think the BTW Foundation can do to help physical and mental wellness in young people? If you were going to run for a cause, what would you pick? There's a lot to get passionate about, baby!
