We're counting down the days (November 22!!!) until we can finally lose our minds over "Catching Fire," so to tide us over, we thought we'd spend some quality time obsessing over the movie's stars and how they're victors IRL.
Although the movie has some major star power, we're more impressed by the pro-social power these stars are touting. When it comes to giving back, Katniss' portrayer isn't the only one on fire! All of the following actors would be worthy tributes for a charity-themed rumble in the arena.
+ Jennifer Lawrence, "Katniss Everdeen"
Can we gush over Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence for a minute? Her character might be the real "girl on fire," but it's obvious Lawrence could give Katniss a run for her money. The actress has been outspoken in the past about how she's never going to starve herself for a role, and we love that she's finally getting Hollywood to talk about healthy body image. Now that's she set up her new foundation, we can hardly wait to see what JLaw is up to next!
+ Liam Hemsworth, "Gale Hawthorne"
In the film, Katniss and Peeta are the ones who travel to the water's edge in a dangerous arena, but in reality, Liam Hemsworth is the one doing his part to save the sea. It doesn't matter if you're #TeamPeeta or #TeamGale, because when someone like Hemsworth calls on you to protect the Great Barrier Reef, you listen!
+ Josh Hutcherson, "Peeta Mellark"
Speaking of #TeamPeeta, thanks to his quiet and dedicated performance, Josh Hutcherson has attracted millions of fans -- male and female alike. We know Peeta is all about Katniss, but his portrayer doesn't care who people fall for: as long as they're not hurting anyone else. As a supporter of Straight But Not Narrow, the actor makes sure his fans know that it doesn't matter who you love, just that you love in the first place.
+ Woody Harrelson, "Haymitch Abernathy"
In "Catching Fire," the tributes are forced into an arena where the environment is just as powerful an enemy as the other competitors. In real life, however, Woody Harrelson knows that its humans who are threatening the environment. We caught up with Harrelson over the summer to find out how he's helping to save the planet with his new paper company. We're pretty certain the actor will never find himself in a real "Hunger Games"-type situation, but if he does, it's safe to say Mother Nature would have his back.
+ Elizabeth Banks, "Effie Trinket"
When Elizabeth Banks first appeared onscreen as Effie Trinket, fans around the world had a mini heart attack over her fabulous appearance. The actress is no stranger to heart attacks, however. Banks directed and starred in a PSA for the American Heart Association where she educated viewers on the symptoms of a heart attack. Let's hope that the only heart palpitations Banks causes this go around are due to her incredible outfits and inspiring charity work!
+ Lenny Kravitz, "Cinna"
Just watching Lenny Kravitz on the screen as Katniss' stylist Cinna is enough to make mouths water for a stylist, but the actor wants to make one thing clear: he's not on board with the millions around the world thirsting for water. He teamed up with UNICEF's Tap Project to bring clean water to those who need it around the world. The only thing we're thirsting for now is for more fans of the series to take Kravitz's lead and help out the cause!
+ Jena Malone & Sam Claflin, "Johanna Mason & Finnick Odair"
We're pretty sure two of the newest stars of the franchise, Jena Malone and Sam Claflin, spend a good portion of the movie naked or scantily clad, so it seems odd to mention them in the same sentence as a mall food court. However, thanks to their recent appearances during a national "Victory Tour," that's just the way it's going to be. The "Hunger Games" might showcase the realities of hunger in some districts in Panem, but Malone and Claflin made sure that they lent their voices to support hunger relief in America. The onscreen tributes urged fans to bring a canned good to donate to Feeding America and the World Food Programme at their mall tour stops.
+ Stanley Tucci, "Caesar Flickerman"
Malone and Claflin aren't the only ones concerned with hunger in America. Everyone's favorite blue-haired host (well now lavender for the 75th Hunger Games) dedicates his time to making sure people get the food they need. Last year the actor even hosted a star-studded gala to help a food bank in New York City.
+ Willow Shields, "Primrose Everdeen"
She might not have competed in the actual Hunger Games, but Prim's portrayer proved she's not afraid to go the distance for a worthy cause with her support of Do Something's Water Games. There might be limited resources in the arena and in most of Panem, but give Shields a few years, and we think this talented actress could have it all sorted out.
+ Donald Sutherland, "President Snow"
He might be the root of all things evil in Suzanne Collins' dystopian world, but Donald Sutherland is nothing like the scary, rose and blood-loving President Snow. Sutherland has pledged his support in the past to The Brian Linehan Charitable Foundation, an organization determined to "create a star system in Canada" that will train, promote, and provide work opportunities for young, talented Canadians.
+ Philip Seymour Hoffman, "Plutarch Heavensbee"
As the new Head Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee appears to be hell-bent on killing Katniss, Peeta, and all but one of the other tributes competing in the arena. There's more to the character than meets the eye, however, which could also be said for his portrayer, Philip Seymour Hoffman. The Gamemaker keeps Katniss guessing in "Catching Fire," but in real life, Hoffman gives back by doing something similar. Earlier in the year, the actor participated in a celebrity charades match that benefitted the LAByrinth Theater Company's Play Development Programs and Productions.
