Lena Dunham is passionate about body acceptance and throwing out the idea you have to look a certain way and be a certain weight in order to be considered pretty. Many girls feel a need to weigh themselves often, but Lena isn't about that life.
The anti-scale actress Tweeted:
Fact: I only weigh myself on rusty scales in foreign countries. Otherwise, I go by how my bracelets are fitting.

This isn't to say it's not important to be healthy, but numbers on a scale don't necessarily prove health. Health is about eating well (but, YES, it is okay to treat yourself sometimes) and exercising. Mental and emotional health affect physical health, too, so if you're beating yourself up over something like not weighing a certain amount, that's not a good look! Also, keep in mind that the most healthy body type and weight changes from person to person.
"The only topic on which I'm almost political about is what I think that this country is doing to women and their body image," Lena has said. She shared a story about how much weight obsession is hurting even very young girls: "I was a babysitter before I was working in film, and I would hear like 7-year-old girls that I babysat say, 'I think I need to go on a diet,' and it cracks my heart open."
So hopefully Lena's Tweet will get fewer women worrying about what the scale says. And maybe a few more women will get interested in how creative and stylish you can get with bracelets? This girl knows how to make "Girls" around the world feel better about themselves!
