Our favorite celebs have always been all about raising money for a good cause, so it's no surprise their YouTube counterparts are trying to do the same.Being internet famous definitely has its perks, but does it really get better than convincing your hundreds of thousands of subscribers to rally around a good cause? We don't think so.
Rally.org, a storytelling platform designed to empower fundraisers, has teamed up with YouTube network Big Frame in a first-of-its-kind partnership. Rally.org's 5 million users have raised money for everything from political campaigns to pay for tuition to funding films. Jon Bon Jovi even used the site through his non-profit to help raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
The partnership launched yesterday, and some of Big Frame's biggest stars are raising money for their favorite causes. MysteryGuitarMan's Joe Penna wants to rally his 2.6 million subscribers to support Medic Mobile, while Brizzy Voices is encouraging her subscribers to donate to Operation Smile. They are joined by AuParis, E-LizzieBooks and MikeyThePlatypus who will create charity-oriented videos to launch their own campaigns as well. The partnership will continue with more stars uploading their videos in the coming weeks.
