British bands are basically better versions of American bands -- they're just as talented but have hot accents. Season 8 "X-Factor" winners Little Mix recently became the first Brit girl group to break the U.S. Billboard top 5 with their debut album DNA, beating the legendary Spice Girls' 16-year record!
Little Mix landed at #4 on the Billboard album charts, while the Spice Girls' debut album, Spice, hit #6 in its first week back in '97. The race is so close, I think we're gonna have to settle it another way: Act-Off!
+ Little Mix Make Out With Donuts
Truth or dare usually involves sketchy basement make-out scenes, but not when you play it with Jessie J! The "Price Tag" singer recently created a series of celeb dares for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day, and managed to get Little Mix's Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock in on the action. Jesse challenged the girls to eat sugarcoated, jelly-filled donuts without licking their lips…a feat that turned out to be much harder than it sounds. Every dare raised money for Comic Relief's children's charities across the UK and Africa.
+ Spice Girls Auction Off Iconic Outfits
The Spice Girls recently auctioned off their most iconic costumes to raise money for Save the Children and Children in Need. Posh's little black dresses, Sporty's signature tracksuits, Baby's girly tops, and even those awkward platform sneaks that used to be so popular. Sounds like the perfect charity for every Spice Girl "Wannabe"!
In spite of their dueling records, don't expect a Little Mix/Spice Girl Twitter war any time soon. Unlike One Direction and The Wanted, these two bands are actually very happy for each other's success. "We looked up to them when we were younger. They've led the way for British girl groups to crack America, and it feels lovely that we've done it as well," Jesy Nelson told MTV News. "Even when we'd just gotten off the 'X Factor' and we'd won it, Geri [Halliwell] sent us flowers," added Perrie.
