Feeling up for a challenge? How about a challenge that helps the environment and comes from Ian Somerhalder? Yeah, that's what I thought!

Ian told MTV Act all about his Ian Somerhalder Foundation before, and now ISF has started an important campaign called Plastic Straws Can Suck It!
Whenever you go to a restaurant, or a coffee shop, or pretty much anywhere that serves drinks, you're given a plastic straw, right? Unfortunately, these little straws we don't think much about are not good for the environment. They're usually not biodegradable, so that means the straw you used this morning in your latte is going to be around long after you're gone, and it hurts the earth. Because we use so many plastic straws, it's actually a major pollution problem.
But these plastic straws aren't really necessary, are they? You can buy your own straw to use over and over, or you can skip straws altogether and drink straight from your cup. ISF is asking you to go strawless for a week and keep track of how many times you turn down a straw. The numbers might surprise you! You can also share this info with friends and fam and get them to cut out straws as well.
It's easy to feel frustrated and helpless looking at all the environmental issues out there, but Ian's encouraging you to take part in a super easy campaign that will also make a difference. So kudos if this week-long challenge becomes something you keep doing your whole life!
