Yep, the fantastic blokes of One Direction have been spotted shirtless recently but they're also all about giving back this week!
Just days after releasing their anti-bullying PSA, the boys have done an anti-poverty PSA for ONE.
+ Watch One Direction in One campaign.
ONE and One Direction? Their names are a match made in numerical heaven! But in all seriousness, ONE is an org that fights extreme poverty, and it's started a new musical campaign called agit8. Agit8 offers songs on different issues, like civil rights, anti-poverty and women's rights. You can click on a song to watch the vid, read the lyrics, and learn the powerful back story. For instance, did ya know that will.i.am's "It's a New Day" is about the 2008 US prez election, or that Kanye West's "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" is about human rights abuses in the diamond trade?
You can scroll through all the songs offered, or search in certain areas (like anti-poverty). After this, you're able to make graphics with selected lyrics of your choice from the songs, and you can share your newly designed image on Facebook and Twitter. It's pretty cool how it works, especially since we all know that music can be a powerful way of spreading awareness. It also lets you pick which categories, songs and lyrics mean the most to you.
One Direction's songs aren't on the list (yet), but that doesn't mean there's any hard feelings. The boys were still happy to make the PSA to bring more attention to ONE and agit8. Which songs and lyrics make you especially passionate about pro-social issues?
