Not sure if you saw it, but a massive, exciting, fantastic trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" debuted online today. (If you haven't seen it, you can check it out in our player below!) While there's a lot to talk about, some things in particular have our nerdy hearts pumping.
Click past the jump to read all about the five reveals that have us dying for December 13, which is only six months and two days away!
Smaug
Let's get the big guy out of the way first, shall we? Smaug had his great, big coming out party today, far ahead of when many were first expecting to see the legendary dragon. We still have yet to hear Benedict Cumberbatch's voice coming through the beast, which is probably something we'll hear in a future trailer.
Beorn
Beorn is a fan favorite bear-man or man-bear — we can't decide which — but whatever he is, he rocks. The shapeshifter makes a quick but memorable appearance in the book and a blink-and-you-missed-it cameo in the first trailer.
Bard
Bard has one of the book's best moments, but we're not sure when that whole ordeal will play out. For now, just enjoy Luke Evans' weave.
Tauriel
It's Kate! Actually, it's Evangeline Lilly doing her best badass elf, and we have to say that we approve.
Legolas
Orlando Bloom is back in the role that helped launch his career. Does the blond wig and bow still fit? Bloom does look noticeably older, but it has been 10 years. We're glad to have him back either way!
"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" opens in theaters on December 13.
