Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder may play heartless vamps on the "Vampires Diaries," but the costars and real-life lovers are anything but cold in real life. The duo recently visited 14-year-old fan, Kayla Miller, in Toronto before a lifesaving lung transplant...and turned her into an immortal vamp juuuust in case.
"I'd like to ask everyone who reads this to send out positive energy to @Kayla_0507 tonight," Nina Tweeted. Three and a half million followers' good vibes must be a powerful thing, 'cause Kayla received a successful transplant a few days ago! Nina should SO start a good vibe army and use it to fix all of the world's problems.

Kayla was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a rare lung disease that causes the stiffening of the lungs, at the age of 11. There are currently 117,729 people waiting for an organ in the U.S., and because turning them into vampires isn't an option, 18 of them won't live to see tomorrow. "I'm an organ donor! Everyone should be! You can save someone's life," Nina Tweeted over the weekend.
If you're not ready to think about your insides like that, there other ways to help people like Kayla. On May 11th, Kayla is hosting the Run aLung 5K to raise money for Canada's SickKids Hospital. So far, she's raised $10,000 of her $25,000 goal. Take below to give to SickKids, and to learn more about becoming an organ donor...at least until we can live forever as real-life vampires.
