With the 2013 MTV Movie Awards less than a week away, MTV Movie Blog is shifting into full Movie Awards mode. In anticipation of the big night, every day this week, we'll be bringing you our five favorite moments from each of the five Movie of the Year nominees.

We begin with "Marvel's The Avengers," a movie that by all accounts should not have been as good as it was, but Joss Whedon and the whole team over there pulled off the impossible. The all-star team-up gave us so many great moments to choose from for our favorites, but these are the stand-outs in our heart.

"I'm always angry."
Because there wasn't a better pay-off in 2012.

Avengers Assembled
Because it was absolutely worth the wait.

"Puny god"
Because Joss Whedon knew what we wanted before we did.

Thanos
Because this told us just how perfectly geeky things were about to get.

Getting some shawarma
Because you have to be able to make fun of yourself.
